Brand: Caran d’Ache
Made in: Switzerland
Deep black mixed with bright streaks of beige, like a pattern in fine marquetry...the subtle reflection of sparkling crystals... Macassar Ebony's secret is the light. This one has the older logo.
Based in Switzerland, Caran d’Ache has been producing fine writing instruments in Geneva workshops since 1915. The company began as Fabrique Genevoise de Crayons and changed its name to Caran d’Ache in 1924. The name is based on “karandash” — Russian for pencil. The company updated its logo in 2015 to mark its 100th anniversary. For an in-depth analysis about its logo design evolution, click here.
