For His Majesty’s Stationary Office HHH

A quick search shows that Sampson Mordan (1790 – 9 April 1843) was a British silversmith.  Quite the shady print on this pencil but what can you expect from a silversmith in the mid 1800's.

• 1836–1845: Items were stamped S.MORDAN & CO MAKERS & PATENTEES.
• 1845–1852: The company shortened the text to read exactly S.MORDAN & CO MAKERS.
• Post-1852: The stamp was shortened even further to simply S.MORDAN & CO
