Brand: Johann Faber
Made in: Germany
The top two “Apollon” are in French. Apparently made for the French market or the French Canadians....very interesting. Very interesting the 2nd from top has the word Copiant! Dur is Hard in French and Hart is Hard in German.
Johann Faber was one of three brothers who at one point worked for the Stein, Germany-based family business known as A.W. Faber Pencil Company in the second half of the 19th century. (Johann’s younger brother, Eberhard Faber, opened the first American pencil factory.) Johann left to start his own pencil business in Nuremberg in 1879. However, his company ended up merging with A.W. Faber during the global economic crisis of the late 1920s.
