Brand: Faber-Castell
Made in: USA
Circa 1988-1994. Quite the anomaly in the Blackwing pencil line. Faber-Castell acquired Eberhard Faber in 1988 and produced some Blackwings with the Faber-Castell imprint. When Sanford Corp. bought the Faber-Castell line in 1994 they reverted back to the Eberhard Faber branding.
Take a look at two other Blackwing 602 pencils made by Eberhard Faber and Palomino.
German-based Faber-Castell is one of the oldest industrial companies in the world. Originally established in 1761 by the cabinet maker Kaspar Faber (1730-1784), the company was at that time known as A.W. Faber. In 1900, when Lothar Faber’s granddaughter married a count of Castell, the A.W. Faber enterprise was renamed to Faber-Castell. Faber-Castell USA, part of the Faber-Castell family of companies, is based in Cleveland, Ohio.
