Castell 9007 F

One German and one USA long ferrule. Unlike the 9000 Castell, the 9007 Castell comes standard with a ferrule/eraser.

• The Context: Before and during the war, trade between Germany and the United States was completely cut off. However, the German parent company had established an independent American manufacturing branch decades earlier—the A.W. Faber-Castell Pencil Co. based out of Newark, New Jersey.
• The Stamp: Because they could no longer import the legendary German graphite leads or finished pencils during the war era, the Newark, NJ factory manufactured the Castell 9000 and 9007 entirely in the USA. They utilized domestic wood and their own "Security Bonded" graphite formulas to keep up with American drafting demands. These domestic runs carried the explicit USA stamp.
