Later this pencil 1930's pencil showed up in the 70's with a standard ferrule! I wonder if the model was just revived so many years later and there was no way they were going to try to make an oversized ferrule.
Founded by Oscar Weissenborn in 1889 as the Pencil Exchange, it was renamed General Pencil Company in 1923. The family-owned enterprise continues to manufacture pencils today from their factory in Jersey City, New Jersey. Learn more at General Pencil Company website.
