Brand: Blackwell-Wielandy Co.
Made in: USA
After WW2 B&W began supplying schools as a jobber with everything imaginable inventorying approximately 30,000 items. Among those items were the Blue Jay line of writing instruments and notebooks.
Founded in 1896 in St. Louis, Missouri. On Dec 24, 1901 Frank H. Wielandy joined A. M. Blackwell and his brother, Paul J. Wielandy, in organizing what was still known as the Blackwell-Wielandy Book & Stationery Company. In 1907 they constructed the Blackwell-Wielandy building in St. Louis which remains to this day. B-W did not manufacture their own pencils, but instead they were produced by the Wallace Pencil Company. (Thanks for the info., Mark!)
